We have been piloting the askmyGP model of appointment booking for the past 7 weeks. Following patient and staff feedback and extensive analysis of the data, we have decided to end the pilot early and revert back to patients booking appointments for routine matters in advance.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our patients for their constructive comments during this time which will continue to help us shape our services for the future.
For urgent ailments that our Nurse Practitioner is unable to help with (i.e. chest infections, urine infections, sore throats etc) the GPs will still telephone patients first so that they can ascertain the best help for them with the most appropriate person first.
The online consultation method through askmyGP is no longer available, however we welcome patient feedback on this method of communication to see if it could be an option for the future.
